Disc Top Caps and Flip Top Caps are sold in their billions each year. Brands love their versatility and cost effectiveness whilst consumers love their accessibility and ease-of-use. They’re great everyday closures!
However, these caps biggest asset is also their downfall when it comes to eCommerce and travel. Their ease of opening and general convenience make them ill-suited for long distance transit, sending through the post or simply putting in gym bags whilst on the move as, under such unsteady conditions, they can inadvertently open and leak.
Introducing the ePak Plug
The economical and commercially-friendly solution
In response to these transport problems, BodyPak has created an innovative and sustainable solution; and developed a growing range of reusable ePak Transit Plugs for our Disc Top and Flip Top closure systems. This allows customers to experience the convenience of a Disc Top or Flip Top closure whilst avoiding the hassle of the caps inadvertently opening and causing leakage during transit.
All of our ePak Transit Plugs are made from 100% recyclable waste material that is left over from the standard manufacturing process. Plugs can also be supplied from 100% PCR material if required.

What’s great about the ePak Transit Plug?
Practical & Double-Sealing
The plug provides a secondary method of sealing bottles in transit, preventing leakage and ensuring regulation compliance with major online retailers and resellers. Perfect for eCommerce and everyday use!
Economical & Efficient
As well as the low material cost, BodyPak are able to supply an ePak Plug with their own compliant range of Disc Top or Flip Top caps as a single unit. This minimises production and assembly costs, and is cheaper than other double seal alternatives.
Convenient & Accessible
Caps assembled with an ePak Plug can be screwed on to bottles in the normal way with minimal additional standoff, and the pull-tab at the base of the component allows for easy removal when the product is ready for use.
Reusable & Recyclable
The ePak Plug is 100% recyclable and is made from excess material, created during the manufacturing process that may otherwise go to landfill. In addition, the Plug can be reinserted into caps and used again and again to prevent leakage.

The ePak Transit Plug (Patent Application No. 2015197.3) has been developed to accommodate for standard SPI neck finishes, currently including 24/410 and 24/415 variants. The range will expand to cater for customer requirements and variations to suit 20mm (20/410 & 20/415) and 28mm (28/410) are currently in development.
